Ross Dock Picnic Area
Finally got the chance to hang out with @Acefelli again and was able to shoot some digital along with film. Ace is one of the friends that I don’t see as often as I would like - but whenever we do meet up it we pick up right where we left off. Ace and I used to work together and have stayed friends since. His interests are a lot like mine - art, music, technology, etc.
Ace mainly shoots film - 35mm and 120mm - with a growing collection of cameras and lenses. It’s always fun to link up and talk photography, gear, lighting, compositions, etc.
We decided to head out to the Ross Dock Picnic Area - to get some views of both the George Washington Bridge as well as the NYC Skyline in the background. The Picnic Area / Park was filled with families and others enjoying the nice breeze and warm day.
I used my Fujifilm XH2 along with my XF18mm f1.4, XF33mm f1.4 and XF 50 - 140mm f2.8. I thought about bringing the XF16-55 only but decided against it. One of my goals is to improve with wider angles and having my camera fixed to 18mm forces me to make new compositions - which I have been enjoying lately.
Also in my bag was my Minolta X-370 - along with a Minolta MD 50mm f1.7 and Minolta MD 135mm f3.5. I finished off a roll of Fujicolor 200 and loaded one of my last rolls of Fuji 400. I have no idea when I’ll get around to developing or scanning these rolls - but I’ll make sure to make a post about them.
The day overall gave me a ton of photos and definitely felt like a good place to start this blog.
